Cooperative Pinfuvote: The Body-Part Chain
A cooperative introduction to pinfuvote, an alternative sport invented in Spain whose name blends ping-pong, soccer (fútbol), volleyball, and tennis. The goal is to keep the ball crossing the net using any body part.
How to play
- Introduce pinfuvote and its idea: hit with any part of the body, one bounce allowed, played over a low net. Stretch five ropes at waist height (2 min).
- Threes on one side of the rope: pass among themselves with one bounce allowed between touches and no player touching twice in a row (4 min).
- Two trios, one on each side of the rope: count how many times in a row the ball crosses, working together (6 min).
- New rule: the touch that sends it over must use a different body part from the previous crossing (5 min).
- Each group of six shares its best count and which body part was most useful (3 min).
Rules
- One bounce at most on each side before hitting.
- No one touches the ball twice in a row.
- Only head the foam ball, and with the forehead; no jumping headers near the rope.
- Call "Mine!" before hitting so no one collides.
Variations
Easier
Players may catch and re-toss once per crossing.
Standard
One bounce, alternating players, any body part.
Harder
No bounce, and the rope at chest height.
Adaptations
- Students with visual impairments: always play with a bounce and a ball with a bell; their hand hits count like any other.
- Students who use wheelchairs: hit with hands and forearms while their trio sets them up with soft passes.
- Students with a knee or ankle injury: play only with hands and head.
Learning goals
- Learn pinfuvote and its basic rules.
- Hit with control using different body parts.
- Cooperate to keep the ball in play.
Equipment for a class of 25
- foam balls: 5
- long ropes: 5
Teacher tip
No posts? Tie the ropes between chairs or to the wall bars. The ball must be light foam: with a volleyball, counts never get past three.
