Traveling Dot Stickers

Each child wears a dot sticker on one body part and travels "led" by that part to the music. When it stops, they find a friend with a sticker somewhere else and help move it to a new spot. Kids locate body parts and connect with classmates.

How to play

  1. Sitting in a circle, the teacher sticks a dot on each child's clothes: shoulder, knee, tummy, elbow or back, and everyone says where it is (3 min).
  2. Music on: everyone walks with their sticker part in front, as if a string were pulling it: "Let your knee go first!" (2 min).
  3. Music off: the teacher says "Find a friend and touch your sticker to their sticker!" Knee to shoulder, tummy to elbow… (3 min, several stops).
  4. At the next stop, each pair helps peel off the sticker and put it on a new part the teacher names: "Now on your ankle!" (3 min).
  5. Music on again and the journey repeats with the new part; three or four rounds.
  6. Closing circle: each child shows where their sticker ended up and moves it to their hand to take home (2 min).

Teacher tip

Pre-peel the stickers onto strips so you don't lose time. Model how you "lead" with your knee by exaggerating it: kids copy right away.
