How to play
- Forward rolls side by side on "one-two-three-go" and finish standing together (5 min).
- Mirror: facing each other on separate mats, one rolls forward and the other backward, at the same time (6 min).
- Trios: roll, straight jump and cartwheel, all together (7 min).
- Each trio creates a shared ending (a three-person still pose) and rehearses it (4 min).
- Show another trio, who points out where the sync slipped (3 min).
Rules
- Everyone on their own mat: no one rolls toward a partner's mat.
- The same person always gives the count.
- At least 1 m between mats.
- If someone can't do a skill, the group swaps it for one everyone can do.
Variations
Easier
Pairs side by side with forward rolls.
Standard
Mirror work and trios with three skills.
Harder
Trios in canon: each starts one beat after the previous one.
Adaptations
- Deaf students: visual count with fingers or a hand slap on the mat.
- Neck injury: the group uses log rolls and standing turns instead.
- Low vision: count out loud and a mat with marked edges.
Learning goals
- Coordinate a gymnastics skill with others.
- Match your rhythm to the group.
- Build a shared ending through cooperation.
Equipment for a class of 25
- mats: 16
- cones: 6
Teacher tip
Line the mats up horizontally in front of you to see the sync. Typical mistake: looking at the partner mid-roll; sync is found at the start and the finish.
