Health Trivia Run
Teams run a loop together to reach the question table about healthy habits; a right answer earns a token from that category and a wrong one means an extra lap. It combines continuous group running with health knowledge.
How to play
- Mark a loop of about 150 m with cones. At one end, set up the question table with cards in five categories: nutrition, sleep, physical activity, posture and first aid (3 min).
- Form five teams of five. Each team runs the full loop together and, at the table, picks a category and reads a card.
- If they answer correctly, they take a flat disc cone in that category's color and jog out again. If wrong, they run an extra lap before trying again with a different card.
- The first team to collect one disc of each color wins. The game lasts about 16 minutes; if nobody finishes, the team with the most discs wins.
- The teacher runs the table, settles doubtful answers and briefly explains the ones most often missed.
- Wrap-up: quick review of the three most-missed questions (3 min).
Rules
- The team always runs together: nobody leaves until everyone arrives.
- The slowest teammate sets the pace; nobody gets pulled along.
- Only the card holder answers, after checking with the team for 15 seconds.
- No running near the table: jog in and stop under control.
Variations
Easier
Use three categories and allow one hint if the team is stuck.
Standard
Five categories, an extra lap for a miss and a win with one disc of each color.
Harder
Stretch the loop to 250 m and require a different teammate to answer each time.
Adaptations
- Limited mobility: the student can be the team reader and use a shorter inner loop that connects to the table.
- Visual impairment: use large-print cards or have a teammate read aloud, and run with a guide.
- Low fitness level: the team may turn the extra lap into a brisk walk if someone needs it.
Learning goals
- Sustain continuous group running while managing a shared pace.
- Recognize healthy habits for nutrition, sleep and posture.
- Work together to make quick team decisions.
Equipment for a class of 25
- cones: 10
- cards: 60
- flat disc cones: 25
Teacher tip
Prepare about 12 short cards per category with clear answers and refresh them between classes. The run-together rule keeps faster students from leaving teammates behind.
