Full Chain: Everyone Touches Before the Shot
Futsal 6v6 or 7v7 where you may only shoot once every field player on the team has touched the ball in that possession. Works ball circulation and full participation.
How to play
- Two futsal courts or 30 x 18 m fields; teams of 6–7 with a rotating goalkeeper (3 min).
- Practice round: whoever touches the ball calls out their own name (4 min).
- Game: shooting is allowed only once all field players have touched it; a turnover resets the count (7 min).
- Timeout: who was left out and why? Adjust positions (3 min).
- Second game with the rule, keeper changes after every goal (8 min).
Rules
- Shoot only after everyone has touched it this possession.
- A turnover resets the count.
- No defending within arm's length of a receiver until they control the ball.
- No contact and no tackles from behind.
Variations
Easier
Four different players must touch the ball before a shot.
Standard
All field players touch it before shooting.
Harder
Also, the ball must travel through both halves of the field.
Adaptations
- Deaf or hard-of-hearing students: instead of calling names, the player raises an arm briefly.
- Limited mobility: plays in a protected side zone, receiving and returning with the hands; their touch counts.
- Students lacking confidence: allowed two touches even if others play three-touch.
Learning goals
- Keep possession with short passes.
- Offer passing lanes to the ball carrier.
- Make sure the whole team takes part.
Equipment for a class of 25
- soccer balls: 2
- cones: 12
- pinnies: 14
- futsal goals: 4
Teacher tip
With 14 per field, keep two out on rotation as touch counters. Typical error: the same three players pass among themselves; ask "who's missing?".
