Find Someone Who Human Bingo
Each student gets a bingo card with squares like "has a younger brother or sister" or "can do a forward roll" and must find different classmates who match them, doing a quick movement challenge together before signing. It gets everyone talking and finding things in common.
How to play
- Make a 3 x 3 card for each student with simple statements: "was born in another country," "can jump rope," "likes basketball," "has a pet" (prep ahead of time).
- Hand out cards and pencils and leave spare pencils on a center cone. Explain that each square must be signed by a different person (2 min).
- On the signal, everyone jogs around the blacktop. When two students meet, they each ask one square.
- If the answer is yes, they do a quick challenge together before signing: five jumping jacks, a high five under the leg, or a 5-second dance.
- When someone completes a row they shout "Bingo!" and keep playing to fill the whole card (12 min).
- Gather in a circle and read a few squares aloud: anyone who matches steps into the center and the group waves to them (4 min).
Rules
- Each square needs a different classmate; you cannot sign your own card.
- Ask face to face and respect anyone who would rather not answer.
- Move at a jog, never sprinting between classmates.
Variations
Easier
Use 2 x 3 cards and allow the same person to sign twice.
Standard
Use a 3 x 3 card with a movement challenge before each signature.
Harder
Use a 4 x 4 card and, besides signing, write down a detail (how many siblings, what pet) to share at the end.
Adaptations
- Students with limited mobility stay at a home base and classmates come to them; challenges are done with the arms.
- For students with reading or visual difficulties, use large picture squares and pair them with a reading buddy.
- Shy students may play with a partner for the first rounds and let the partner ask the question.
Learning goals
- Learn about classmates' hobbies and backgrounds.
- Start short conversations with classmates they do not usually talk to.
- Perform simple partner movement challenges in a coordinated way.
