Word Sculpture: Sum Up the Lesson in One Group Shape
Each group gets a word linked to the lesson and turns it into a still group sculpture; the others guess it. Students reflect on class through movement and finish with a shared shape.
How to play
- Groups of five. Each gets a face-down card with a word from the lesson: teamwork, effort, respect, strategy, help, trust (1 min).
- Each group silently designs a still sculpture that includes every member (2 min).
- Taking turns, each group holds its sculpture for 10 seconds while the others guess the word (3 min).
- After each correct guess, the group explains which moment of class inspired it (2 min).
- Final whole-class sculpture of the word that showed up most today (1 min).
Rules
- No one is lifted or holds anyone's weight up high.
- Design without talking: pointing and gently placing classmates is fine.
- Raise your hand to guess and clap for every group.
Variations
Easier
Talking allowed while designing, and the word comes with a hint.
Standard
Silent design and a 10-second sculpture.
Harder
The sculpture must move slowly: it starts in one shape and ends in another.
Adaptations
- Visually impaired students: a classmate describes the sculpture, or they may touch it with the group's permission.
- Wheelchair users: their position is the anchor and the rest build around them.
- Students who prefer no contact: take their own position without touching anyone.
Learning goals
- Express ideas through the body.
- Reflect on what happened in the lesson.
- Cooperate without words to build something shared.
Equipment for a class of 25

Teacher tip
Match the words to what really happened in class. The usual trap is one student directing and the rest obeying: require everyone to add at least one gesture.
