How to play
- Make teams of five. One team stands in a row in simple, still poses; the rest sit facing them (1 min).
- Observers look for 20 seconds, then turn their backs (1 min).
- The posing team makes three subtle changes: an arm, a crossed foot, two people swapping places (1 min).
- Observers turn back and point out the changes; each correct answer is explained by someone who hasn't spoken yet (2 min).
- Rotate roles until every team has posed once (3 min).
Rules
- Poses must be easy and safe to hold.
- Speak one at a time, hand raised.
- Changes to clothing or anyone's looks don't count: positions and poses only.
Variations
Easier
Only two changes and 30 seconds to look.
Standard
Three changes and 20 seconds to look.
Harder
Five tiny changes and only 15 seconds to look.
Adaptations
- Students with low vision: sit in the front row and may step closer before turning around.
- Wheelchair users: join the pose using arms, trunk and head positions.
- Shy students: can pose at the end of the row and don't need to explain out loud.
Learning goals
- Improve attention and visual memory.
- Become aware of body position.
- Work together as a team to find the changes.
Teacher tip
Before starting, remind them only poses count: no comments about clothes or bodies. If a team is slow choosing changes, give them an idea.
