Target Clean-Up: Ring the Cone with a Ringo Ring
A precision cool-down where students toss ringo rings onto a cone while putting equipment away. It lowers the intensity while keeping focus.

How to play
- Each pair has a ring and a cone 3 meters away: toss gently to ring the cone; the thrower walks to get it and comes back (3 min).
- Move the cone back one step and toss with the non-dominant hand (2 min).
- Last toss into the equipment bin; if it misses, the pair walks it over (1 min).
- While the cones are put away, each pair shares one thing they learned about ringo today (1 min).
Rules
- Walk the whole time; no running in this part.
- Only one partner throws at a time; the other waits behind.
- Nobody picks up a ring while someone is tossing toward that cone.
- All cones face the same wall so no one throws toward another pair.
Variations
Easier
Cone at 2 meters, and touching the cone counts.
Standard
Cone at 3 meters with both hands.
Harder
Two cones in a row: the farther one counts double.
Adaptations
- Students with visual impairments: the partner taps the cone so it makes a sound and calls out the distance.
- Students who use wheelchairs: put the cone on a bench for a comfortable throwing angle.
- Students with an arm injury: toss with the other arm, with no scoring pressure.
Learning goals
- Bring the heart rate down with a calm task.
- Adjust throwing force for accuracy.
- Help put away the equipment.
Equipment for a class of 25
- ringo rings: 15
- cones: 15
Teacher tip
Works great at the end of a ringo lesson since the equipment is already out. Ask for soft, arcing tosses; the flat game throw doesn't work here.
