Superhero Academy Power Stations
Students train at the superhero academy by rotating through four power stations: super speed, super jump, super strength and super balance. Each station has three levels, so every student picks a challenge and warms up the whole body.
How to play
- Set up 4 stations, each with a three-level challenge card (bronze, silver and gold), and make 4 groups of 6 or 7 superheroes.
- Each group starts at a station, and every superhero picks a challenge level from the card.
- Super speed: zigzag there and back through 6 cones. Super jump: two-foot jumps or hops through 6 hoops. Super strength: 5 yards of bear walk and a 10-second plank on a mat. Super balance: walk heel to toe along a rope on the floor.
- Each station lasts 2 minutes, repeating the challenge nonstop. On “Mission accomplished!”, groups rotate clockwise.
- After all 4 stations, everyone meets in the middle and holds a superhero pose for 5 seconds.
Rules
- At speed and jump stations, go when the student ahead has finished the first part.
- Each student picks their own level and can move up or down anytime.
- Only two superheroes on a mat at a time.
- Stations are at least 5 yards apart so groups don't cross.
Variations
Easier
Use only the bronze level and make stations 90 seconds long.
Standard
Four 2-minute stations with three levels to choose from.
Harder
Add a fifth super-reaction station: catch a ball a partner drops before it bounces twice.
Adaptations
- Limited mobility: each card includes an adapted version, such as tossing into the hoops instead of jumping or doing a wall plank.
- Autism: post a visual schedule of the stations and give a one-minute warning before each rotation.
- Fitness level: the bronze level allows short breaks without leaving the station.
Learning goals
- Activate speed, jumping, strength and balance before the lesson.
- Choose a challenge that fits their ability and try to beat it.
- Respect turns and space at each station.

Teacher tip
Set up the stations before class arrives and explain them with a quick demo of each. Praise students who move up a level, not those who finish first.
