Slow-Motion Rewind: Today's Workout in Reverse
A cooldown that replays the session's exercises in reverse order, slower each time, until the last one becomes a stretch. It brings the heart rate down gradually and lets students review technique without fatigue.

How to play
- The group calls out the workout's exercises and lines them up from last to first (1 min).
- The last exercise in slow motion: 5 reps of about 6 s each, no load (2 min).
- Work backward through the rest, slower each time and chasing full range (3 min).
- The first warm-up move becomes a 30 s held stretch per side (1 min).
- Wrap-up: each student says which movement made the most sense in slow motion (1 min).
Rules
- No load and no jumping: jumps are done without leaving the floor.
- Each rep must be slower than the last.
- Keep voices low to hold the calm.
- If something hurts, shorten the range.
Variations
Easier
Only the last three exercises of the workout.
Standard
Every exercise in reverse order.
Harder
In pairs, one moves in slow motion while the other narrates the technique points in real time.
Adaptations
- Limited mobility: each exercise is done in the adapted version used in the session, also in slow motion.
- Hearing impairment: the teacher sets the slow tempo with an arm swing like a metronome.
- Very tired students: they can do the rewind walking and with half the reps.
Learning goals
- Bring intensity down gradually.
- Review exercise technique without fatigue.
- Connect the main workout with recovery.
Teacher tip
Works best after circuit or HIIT sessions with varied exercises. The classic mistake is rushing to finish early: count the seconds yourself on the first reps.
