How to play
- Six hoops on the ground, each 10–25 m from a starting cone; groups of three with a ball each (2 min).
- Each group starts at a different hole, kicks in turn and counts kicks while walking after the ball (3 min).
- Move on to the next holes; whoever used the fewest kicks on the last hole tees off last (3 min).
- Cleanup: each group collects the hoop and cones from its last hole and shares its toughest hole (2 min).
Rules
- Always walk; nobody runs after the ball.
- Kick only when the group ahead has left the hole.
- The ball must stop inside the hoop.
- Everyone counts their own kicks honestly.
Variations
Easier
Closer hoops, and touching the hoop counts.
Standard
Six holes from a starting cone.
Harder
Holes with obstacles (go around a bench) and weaker foot only.
Adaptations
- Limited mobility: plays with a hockey stick or rolls the ball by hand from the wheelchair.
- Visual impairment: a partner claps from the hoop as a guide.
- Foot injury: is the group's scorekeeper.
Learning goals
- Control kicking power.
- Cool down through a precision challenge.
- Get to know footgolf as a sport.
Equipment for a class of 25
- soccer balls: 10
- hoops: 6
- cones: 12
Teacher tip
Place the holes near where equipment already is so cleanup is quick. Typical error: kicking hard; remind them the soft touch wins.
