Post It or Not? Privacy Dilemmas on the Move
The teacher reads real-life situations about photos and videos in PE, and students walk to the corner that matches their answer. It cools the class down with easy movement while they think about their own image and other people's.
How to play
- Introduce the four corners: "Yes", "No", "It depends" and "Ask first"; easy walk around the space (1 min).
- Dilemmas 1 to 3: filming someone who falls, posting a team photo with the school logo, and sending your technique video to your coach; travel to the corner on tiptoes, with side steps or backward, and one student per corner explains their choice (3 min).
- Dilemmas 4 and 5: sharing a screenshot of the class results and forwarding someone else's video, with new ways of traveling (3 min).
- Wrap-up: the class agrees on three rules for cameras in PE and says them out loud while stretching arms and neck (3 min).
Rules
- Respect every opinion; nobody makes fun of a choice.
- Only the person with the turn speaks, and anyone can pass.
- Walk to the corners, no running.
- No examples using real classmates' names.
Variations
Easier
Three simple dilemmas with a clear answer.
Standard
Five dilemmas with a short discussion at each corner.
Harder
Each group invents a new dilemma for the rest of the class to answer.
Adaptations
- Deaf or hard-of-hearing students: show the dilemmas in writing on the board or a tablet.
- Limited mobility: bring the corners closer and let students also answer by holding up a colored card.
- Shy students: can answer in writing on a slip the teacher reads out.
Learning goals
- Cool down with easy movement.
- Reflect on privacy and the right to your own image.
- Agree on responsible rules for using devices in class.
Equipment for a class of 25
- cones: 4
Teacher tip
Remind students that filming or sharing someone's image without permission can have legal consequences and that the school has its own consent forms. Write down the three agreed rules and post them in the gym.
