How to play
- In pairs with one ball: one tosses by hand, the other returns with the foot after one bounce (2 min).
- Everyone juggles with a bounce in between: foot, bounce, thigh, bounce (2 min).
- Record round: 1 minute counting your best streak; each pair tells the teacher their number (2 min).
- Add all streaks on the board or out loud and try to beat the class total in a second round (2 min).
Rules
- The ball may bounce once between touches.
- Count each person's best streak, not the worst.
- Work in your own space, three steps from others.
- Nobody comments on anyone else's numbers; only the total matters.
Variations
Easier
Two bounces allowed, and you can catch to restart.
Standard
One bounce between touches using foot and thigh.
Harder
Alternate right and left foot, or juggle with no bounce.
Adaptations
- Wheelchair users: hand-tap a beach ball with a bounce; their streaks count the same.
- Visual impairment: bell ball and foot touches after a bounce, partner tossing from close range.
- Students lacking confidence: count as a pair, adding both people's touches.
Learning goals
- Adjust touch strength so the ball stays low.
- Use different body surfaces.
- Contribute to a shared goal without comparing.
Equipment for a class of 25
- soccer balls: 15
Teacher tip
Slightly deflated balls bounce less and are easier to control. The usual error is toe-poking hard; cue "firm ankle, laces".
