Space Warm-up
Space warm-up: students travel between "planets" marked with cones and do a different movement at each one.
How to play
- Place 5–6 colored cones around the area: each is a planet.
- Assign a movement to each planet: Mars = jumps, Jupiter = giant steps, Saturn = spin with arms out.
- Students travel freely from planet to planet.
- At each planet they do the movement for 10 seconds and continue.
Rules
- Jog between planets without bumping.
- Visit every planet.
Variations
Easier
Three planets, walking.
Standard
Six planets, free route.
Harder
The teacher sets the order and changes the route every minute.
Adaptations
- Memory difficulties: picture sign on each cone.
- Limited mobility: planets closer together.
Learning goals
- Practice different locomotor skills.
- Warm up in a playful way.
