Secret Agent Mission Movement Story
Secret agents get a mission: sneak in unseen, jump and duck to avoid imaginary laser beams and escape at top speed. It builds agility, level changes and reactions to quick commands.
How to play
- Everyone spreads out. The teacher whispers the mission: recover a secret map. Put on agent sunglasses and warm up ankles and wrists (30 sec).
- Sneaky entrance: tiptoe silently and, on "Guard!", freeze like a statue for 3 seconds (1 min 30 sec).
- Laser beams: while jogging, the teacher calls "High laser" (duck), "Low laser" (jump) or "Double laser" (jump, then duck) (2 min).
- Camera hallway: bear-crawl under imaginary cameras and come back with side steps against the wall (1 min).
- Code message: the teacher says a number from 1 to 5 and agents form groups of that size within 5 seconds and crouch (1 min 30 sec).
- Escape: on "Alarm!", sprint to the end of the court and jog back; repeat twice and finish with deep breaths (1 min 30 sec).
Rules
- The lasers are imaginary: nobody touches anybody.
- Nobody gets left out of a code group: a group can have one extra.
- During the escape, run straight and slow down before the wall.
- Agents speak only in whispers during the mission.
Variations
Easier
Use only high and low lasers and jog the escape.
Standard
Complete the mission with lasers, code groups and escape as told.
Harder
The teacher gives the laser calls with gestures only, no words.
Adaptations
- Limited mobility: dodges lasers with the trunk and arms and is the radio agent who sounds the alarm.
- Hearing impairment: show each laser with a hand held at a different height.
- Fitness level: during the escape, tired students jog instead of sprint.
Learning goals
- React with agility to cues that call for level changes.
- Group up quickly without leaving anyone out.
- Control speed in short sprints with a safe stop.
Teacher tip
The whispered opening builds excitement, so use it. Mark a stopping line 3 yards from the wall before the escape.
