Relaxed Goodbye
Relaxed goodbye: a calm closing ritual where students relax their body part by part and say goodbye to the class in a quiet, positive way.
How to play
- Students sit or lie down with space around them.
- Guide three slow breaths and relax shoulders, arms and legs one by one.
- Sitting up, each student says goodbye with a calm gesture (a wave, a smile, a thumbs-up) to the classmates around them.
- Finish with one shared deep breath before leaving the gym.
Rules
- Quiet voices.
- Respect each classmate's pace.
Variations
Easier
Breathing and goodbye only.
Standard
Full relaxation and goodbye.
Harder
Each student says one word about how they feel.
Adaptations
- Sensory sensitivities: reduce sounds and lights.
- Restless groups: start short and lengthen session by session.
Learning goals
- Return to calm at the end of class.
- Close the lesson with a positive class climate.
