Massage for Jumping Legs
After all that jumping, children sit on the floor and give their legs a massage—feet, ankles, knees, and thighs—as if thanking them. They build body awareness and learn to take care of themselves.

How to play
- Sitting with legs stretched out, say hello to your feet that worked so hard (1 min).
- Foot massage: squeeze your toes and make little circles on your soles (1 min).
- Move up the ankles and knees with gentle taps, like raindrops (1 min).
- Rub your thighs as if warming them up, then stroke them slowly (1 min).
- Lie down with floppy legs and listen to the music (1 min).
Rules
- I give myself the massage, gently.
- My hands move slowly.
- If something hurts, I tell the teacher.
- We talk quietly.
Variations
Easier
At age 3, the teacher names each body part and they do it together.
Standard
At age 4, kids name the parts of the leg as they massage them.
Harder
At age 5, in pairs, they give each other a gentle raindrop massage on the legs, asking permission first.
Adaptations
- Limited mobility: massage arms and hands instead if preferred, or the adult helps with the legs.
- Autism or tactile sensitivity: massage with a soft ball instead of hands.
- Visual impairment: the teacher describes each part and guides the child's hand if needed.
Learning goals
- Relax the legs after jumping.
- Name parts of the leg.
- Take care of one's own body.

Teacher tip
Play soft music and dim the lights if you can. In the partner version, teach them to ask first: "May I give you a massage?"
