Lesson Replay Card Sort
In groups, students get a shuffled set of cards showing the games and exercises from today's lesson and must put them in the order they happened, then act out each part in slow motion. It reviews what was learned, exercises memory and helps students understand how a lesson is structured.
How to play
- Make 5 groups of 5 sitting in circles; each group gets an envelope with 5-6 cards, one for each part of the lesson (warm-up, games, stretches…), written or drawn (1 min).
- Without looking at the teacher, the group arranges the cards on the floor in the order they happened; they have 2 minutes and must talk quietly (2 min).
- The teacher reads the correct order aloud and each group checks and fixes its row of cards (1 min).
- Each group picks one card and prepares a 15-second slow-motion skit of that part of the lesson (2 min).
- Groups take turns performing while the class guesses which card it is; finish with the whole class seated taking three deep breaths (2 min).
Rules
- Use quiet voices within your group.
- Every group member places at least one card.
- Skits are in slow motion with no rough contact.
- Respect other groups' skits, with no teasing.
Variations
Easier
Use picture cards and only 3 or 4 parts to order.
Standard
Order 5-6 cards and act out one part in slow motion.
Harder
Besides ordering, the group writes on each card what that part of the lesson is for.
Adaptations
- Limited mobility: cards go on a table or bench, and the skit uses arms and trunk.
- Reading difficulties or autism: use cards with picture symbols or photos from the lesson.
- Shy students: they can be the narrator who announces the card during the skit.
Learning goals
- Recall the lesson's activities in order.
- Recognize the parts of a PE lesson and what each is for.
- Work as a group to solve a task.
Equipment for a class of 25

Teacher tip
Make generic, laminated cards you can reuse, and add only a card for the day's main game. Snapping a photo of each group's row gives you a quick assessment record.
