Ultimate Frisbee
Non-contact team game played with a flying disc: score by catching the disc in the end zone. Players can't run with the disc, so passing and moving into space are key.
How to play
- Explain the basics: no running with the disc, score by catching it in the end zone, and a turnover happens on any drop or interception.
- Practice backhand throws in pairs for 5 minutes.
- Play 5-vs-5 games on a small field with two end zones.
- Finish with a quick talk about the best team plays.
Rules
- No contact.
- The thrower has 10 seconds to pass.
- Players call their own fouls and sort them out respectfully.
Variations
Easier
Small field, no 10-second count, and a soft disc.
Standard
5-vs-5 games with standard rules.
Harder
Bonus point if every player touched the disc before the score.
Adaptations
- Limited mobility: protected zone to receive passes.
- Mixed skill levels: balanced teams and a soft disc.
Learning goals
- Develop throwing and catching skills.
- Practice fair play and self-officiating.
