Tactile Color Game
Tactile color game: students recognize colors and textures of fabrics, with and without sight, and respond with movements.
How to play
- Spread fabrics of different colors and textures on the floor.
- Call a color and everyone runs to touch a fabric of that color.
- Second phase: eyes closed, a partner guides you to a fabric and you guess its texture.
- Third phase: each color has a movement attached.
Rules
- Walk slowly in the eyes-closed phase.
- Leave fabrics where they are.
Variations
Easier
Colors only, no eyes-closed phase.
Standard
All three phases.
Harder
Combine color and texture in the same call.
Adaptations
- Visual impairment: lead role in the tactile phase.
- Color blindness: fabrics with different shapes or textures too.
Learning goals
- Develop visual and tactile perception.
- Link stimuli to motor responses.
