Sack Race
Classic sack race: students jump inside a sack in relay teams, developing two-foot jumping, balance and coordination.
How to play
- Set up 4–5 relay lanes about 10–15 m long on soft ground.
- Demonstrate: hold the sack at the waist and jump with both feet together.
- Run relays: each student jumps to the cone and back, then hands over the sack.
- Finish with a team final or a "beat your time" round.
Rules
- Jump with feet together, landing softly.
- Wait behind the line for your turn.
- If you fall, get up and continue from where you fell.
Variations
Easier
Shorter lanes and walking hops.
Standard
Full relay races.
Harder
Add a slalom around cones or a jump over a low line.
Adaptations
- Limited mobility: timer or start judge, or a rolling relay.
- Balance difficulties: shorter lanes and holding a partner's hand.
Learning goals
- Develop jumping and balance.
- Enjoy healthy team competition.
