Cooperative Desert Island
Cooperative desert island: the group must stay on "islands" (hoops and mats) that keep disappearing, without anyone touching the sea.
How to play
- Spread hoops and mats on the floor: islands in the sea.
- With music, the group moves around; when it stops, everyone must be on an island.
- Remove one island each round.
- The challenge is to fit everyone on the remaining islands by helping each other.
Rules
- Nobody is left out: if someone doesn't fit, the group finds a solution.
- No pushing or carrying classmates.
Variations
Easier
Remove islands slowly and use big mats.
Standard
Remove one island per round.
Harder
Finally, the whole group fits on one mat.
Adaptations
- Limited mobility: their island is never removed and the group organizes around it.
- Touch sensitivity: allowed to rest just one foot or hand.
Learning goals
- Encourage cooperation and problem solving.
- Work on balance in small spaces.
