Chin to Chin
In pairs, one child holds a beanbag between chin and chest and passes it to a partner without using hands, like an old party game. It works fine neck and core control, plus cooperation and patience with each other.

How to play
- Everyone tries holding the beanbag between chin and chest and walking that way (2 min).
- In pairs, pass it slowly with no hands; if it drops, start again (3 min).
- Try other no-hands passes: knee to knee sitting down, or foot to foot (3 min).
- Make groups of four and send the beanbag around everyone without hands (3 min).
- Thank your partner and share which pass was hardest (1 min).
Rules
- Hands stay behind my back.
- I go slowly and wait until my friend has it.
- If it drops, we laugh and start again.
Variations
Easier
For 3-year-olds, knee to knee sitting down or flat palm to flat palm without closing fingers works better.
Standard
For 4-year-olds, chin to chin in pairs.
Harder
For 5-year-olds, groups of four and also trying shoulder to shoulder.
Adaptations
- Limited mobility: pass knee to elbow or shoulder to shoulder with the partner at wheelchair height.
- Autism: if close contact is uncomfortable, pass elbow to elbow or on a paper plate held flat.
- Visual impairment: the partner says "Got it" or "Let go" out loud.
Learning goals
- Control an object with unusual body parts.
- Cooperate and wait for a partner.
- Handle mistakes with good humor.
Equipment for a class of 25

Teacher tip
Choose soft, loosely filled beanbags that mold better to the neck. Always offer an alternative to face-to-face contact if a child isn't comfortable.
