How to play
- Stand in a circle with hands behind backs: they're sleeping hands (1 min).
- The teacher blows bubbles; nobody touches them until "Go!"; then we pop them with claps (2 min).
- Long waits: the teacher counts the bubbles out loud before saying "Go!" (2 min).
- A different body part each time: "Go, with a finger!" "Go, with an elbow!" "Go, with a foot!" (2 min).
- Don't-touch bubbles: this time we blow them from a distance to keep them floating (2 min).
- Last bubble: watch it rise in silence until it pops on its own (1 min).
Rules
- Hands behind backs until "Go!"
- We pop bubbles without pushing friends.
- Only the teacher uses the bubble wand.
Variations
Easier
For 3-year-olds, keep waits short and always pop with claps.
Standard
For 4-year-olds, longer waits and different body parts.
Harder
For 5-year-olds, only pop the bubbles on the side of the circle the teacher names ("the ones by the window").
Adaptations
- Limited mobility: the teacher blows bubbles toward the child's height, and they pop them with a hand or a short pool noodle.
- Hearing impairment: "Go!" comes with a big, visible arm drop.
- Visual impairment: a buddy says "here!" and the teacher blows large bubbles close by.
Learning goals
- Control the urge to touch until the signal.
- Coordinate movement to reach something in the air.
- Manage excitement and waiting.
Equipment for a class of 25

Teacher tip
Play outdoors, with your back to the wind and away from slippery areas, because soap makes the ground slick. Remind them not to rub their eyes with soapy hands.
